Harrison such a strong name for a little boy. We bet he will grow into a fine young dog. He was born approximately Aug 7, 2014. If you are interested in adopting Harrison, we would love for you to fill the application out and we can arrange for you to meet him. Anatolian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

COURTESY POSTING: Hi, my name is Wynetta (named after a singer my rescuer liked) and I am about 1 year old weigh about 60lbs. I was living on a street corner in South Dallas with my mommy and other dogs that people didn't want anymore when this lady saw us and brought us some food and water so we wouldn't be hungry and thirsty anymore. I was younger then and have four more siblings. Me and my mommy and brothers and sisters were kinda of scared of the lady because of how our other humans abandoned us so we were afraid to trust her. She was so nice to us and my brother, Jonesy had already went with her and I decided that I wanted to be with ... (Read More)her too so I followed her to her car one day and she picked me up and took me home with her. I was real glad to see my brother. She took very good care of both of us and took us to the doggie doctor to get our puppy vaccinations and have us neutered and spayed and got rid of our 'puppy worms'. My brother, Jonesy already got his forever home and now it is time to find my forever home. I am a little shy with new people but when someone is nice to me I get friendly and I love to play with my foster siblings so I would probably love being with another dog that likes to play too. If you think I might be a good doggie for your home and would like to meet me in person just e-mail Angels Rescue for a pre adoption questionnaire and they will see that my rescuer gets it so she can look it over and call you to set up a time to come and meet me. My adoption fee is $125 and a home visit will need to be done to check that the back yard has a good fence around it so I don't get out and get hurt or lost. (Less)

Bo is a 10 month old Aussie. He has a lot of energy and did fine until I started working full time. I live in an apartment and it is just not fair to him to have to be locked up all day. Bo needs a loving family that has a backyard for him to run. He loves to play and needs attention. He is house broke. He does tend to bark at people and other dogs when he is on a leash but has never been aggressive. Looking for a living family that can give him the attention he needs

Anatolian Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our lovely dog Hopper (my daughter named her) has been living in harmony in our home until this last weekend and now we have an unfortunate situation where we need to immediately rehome her. We found Hopper on the side of the road with her litter mates 3 years ago and surmised that her litter had been dumped on the side of the road. There was some speculation that a breeder in the area had dumped the litter, but that is merely hearsay. She is gentle with people and kids, ignores most other animals. She is housebroken and is a calm presence in the house. She LOVES being outside. She is intelligent and basic training with her has yielded ... (Read More)quick results although we have not spent a lot of time on this. Recently, my older dog (11 year old German Shepherd Mix) tore her ACL. For some reason, Hopper decided last week to begin consistent, unprovoked attacks on our older dog. We have had two separate evaluations from an animal behaviorist who has said they do not see any aggressive patterns with Hopper with other animals, it is just our older dog. It is possible that she wants to be pack leader and she is taking advantage of my other dog's lameness to make her move. We took Hopper to the vet this week to rule out any medical reason for the shift in behavior and she has been given a clean bill of health. While at the behaviorist and at the vet, she exhibited no aggressive behavior towards other animals. In fact, she ignored them. We are in immediate need of rehoming her as it is unsafe for our other dog. We have been keeping the dogs separated while we look for a great loving family to adopt Hopper. She would be great in a family that had space for her to roam, where she could be outside at night (which she loves) keeping the perimeter safe. She loves children and brightens when they come in the room. She is a gentle giant and is a really great dog. She is currently growing out her summer shave and her hair is shorter than this picture. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My wife and I rescued Ajax from the pound hours before he was to be put down. We wanted to give him a second chance at life. He had been attacked by another animal and found as a stray. He had cuts and puncture wounds on his face, legs and back. He has made a 100% recovery from his wounds. He is great with other dogs and people. However, he is a bit uncertain around men until he has time to warm up to them. He is AMAZING with children. He is a high energy and intelligent dog. He needs a job to keep him busy. While we have a nice, big backyard, he still manages to escape. He can get into mischief in the house when he gets bored. ...     Anatolian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Anatolian Shepherd is a large breed with strong herding instincts. Anatolian Shepherds need strong leadership from their masters and are matched best with owners who have experience training dogs. An Anatolian Shepherd is a very loyal dog with strong protective instincts towards its loved ones. Anatolian Shepherds are wary of strangers and need to be introduced to new people. An Anatolian Shepherd is very friendly towards people he knows well. Anatolian Shepherds are caring towards children, but may not know their own strength and therefore need to be supervised around younger kids. A large fenced yard or farm environment is best for Anatolian Shepherds. Its ability to herd animals and protect the perimeter of a property makes the Anatolian Shepherd an excellent working dog.

Anatolian Shepherd
lnteresting Anatolian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Texas Spay & Neuter Clinics
Anatolian Shepherds have long been valued by herdsmen for their ability to best wolves in a fight. Anatolian Shepherds are very closely related, some say identical, to the Kangal, which is the national dog of Turkey. Exporting Kangal dogs from Turkey involves so many restrictions that it is effectively outlawed. Anatolian Shepherds have such strong herding instincts that they will treat other household pets as their flock and become very protective of them.
