Anatolian Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Puppy is a 5 year old spayed Anatolian Shepherd who was my father's dog on a 10 acre property until my father passed away recently. She has a great personality, is active and very loving towards people. Puppy has only been with one other dog, so she would be better being in a single dog family. She loves being outside and has experience in herding goats. I had the ability to keep Puppy I would without hesitation; however, my home is too small for this great girl who needs room to run.

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-20-00002Maverick (male)

Anatolian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Maverick is an awesome, awesome 18-month-old Anatolian Shepherd that was dumped out in the country at a friends house. Their loss is now Pop's Legacy Rescue's gain.He has come so far since he has been at my house as a foster. He is now crate trained and is doing very well on potty training and loves to play with all the dogs and has no problems with cats. He now knows how to sit and gives you the paw and we are working on laying down. He is a happy fella and very loving. He did well for his bath in the walk-in shower and was so soft when we finished! Whoever is lucky enough to get this boy is going to have a five star dog.If you are ... (Read More)interested, fill out an application with Pops Legacy Rescue or contact us. Rescue Me ID: 18-01-19-00347Rori (female)

Anatolian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

We have had Rori for 3 years. She is a great dog with a quirky personality. She can be very talkative and loves playing with toys. She is protective around new people and would be a great guard dog. We put her through obedience training 2 years ago, while we haven't been the best at keeping up the training, she is very smart and learns fast. I love her dearly but she just doesn't work with our family. I think she would be great with someone with land and a good understanding of the challenges a herd dog can present. My ideal adoption scenario would be someone willing to take time to get to know her before adopting her. I know this isn't ... Animal ID: Foster HomeBurt Reynolds (male)

Anatolian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Burt is a giant cuddlebug and, despite his size, believes himself to be the perfect lap dog! He was an owner surrender when his previous family moved, and he just cannot understand why he wasn't important enough to keep. He is yearning for a new, loyal family of his very own and has lots and lots of love to give! Burt gets along well with other dogs with some supervision - he likes to play but will snap and growl whenever he wants space, so he will not do well with reactive dogs right away. Most of the time he just craves human interaction more than anything and will gladly accept it from adults and kids alike! Even at 67 pounds, he ... (Read More)actually has mid-level energy and should do fine with some daily time in a backyard or walks. He really likes playing ball and would make a great fetch buddy, He's not even two years old yet, so he has plenty of years of devotion to go. Vaccinated, totally crate trained, and potty trained. If you think that you can provide a handsome, affectionate dog with the furever home he deserves then please consider meeting Burt! He is already overdue for his own best friend. lnteresting Anatolian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Texas Spay & Neuter Clinics
Anatolian Shepherds have long been valued by herdsmen for their ability to best wolves in a fight. Anatolian Shepherds are very closely related, some say identical, to the Kangal, which is the national dog of Turkey. Exporting Kangal dogs from Turkey involves so many restrictions that it is effectively outlawed. Anatolian Shepherds are very independent and will take personal responsibility for guarding a flock.
